New York blizzards

Fierce blizzards hit New York Sunday through Monday. Below, a car lies almost buried in huge drifts in one of the worst snow storms to ever hit the city.

So this is what they mean by Global Warming!!

Frozen Christmas

In Britain this has officially been declared the coldest winter since reliable records were kept. Meanwhile in North America snow storms battered eastern states dumping significant snow falls that brought widespread travel disruption.

Global warming hits North America and Europe - Not!!!

Global warming is back again

As a deep freeze hit areas of North America,, and Europe causing widespread disruption in November and December the ludicrous view of certain scientists was that this was a sure sign of guess what? Yeah... global warming!! Laughable!! Lamentable, but equally a sure signal that despite all evidence to the contrary there are those - with qualifications bristling like Christmas trees - who are prepared to tell the rest of us, struggling through snow and ice, that the world is heating up.

This is lunatic science, and this site has always insisted that evidence to support the idea of Global Warming is non existent, with many areas of the world actually becoming colder. And as for Climate Change; this is merely a statement of fact that has always characterised climatological conditions since our planet came into being long before Human influence ever entered the equation: It caused the desiccation of the Sahara Desert with its once luscious plains that flourished with rich fertile life thousands of years before factories, exhaust fumes and mass consumerism., and also saw Ice Ages that lasted for thousands of years.

This illustrates that this planets climate has always been subject to considerable change and variety and although Human activity may have contributed to raised levels of local pollution, this contribution is insignificant compared to other natural factors. These include volcanic eruptions, Solar activity and most importantly varying wind patterns. For example the current cold spell experienced in North America and areas of Europe are entirely a consequence of northerly orientated winds. If the winds were more southerly inclined warmer conditions would prevail and advocates of Global Warming would be singing with a glorious refrain, even more than they are now.

The truth is one should be very worried when distinguished scientists interpret every climatological variation in terms of Global Warming in a way that leads to major policy changes that are completely unjustified.

Mistaken signs

A recent spell of turbulent weather conditions in China, India and Pakistan brought predictable headlines linking it to Climate Change and more vaguely Global Warmimg. Yet as this article shows there could be another, more sensational answer that would make any governmental attempts of reducing carbon emissions strictly redundant.

Freezing weather hits the British Isles once again

Once more parts of the British Isles were plunged into chaos as yet further harsh winter weather caused widespread snow falls in southern areas. Indeed Britain has experienced its coldest winter for at least two decades.

Second snow wave hits mid Atlantic states.

Another wave of record breaking snow falls hit mid Atlantic states in the US with many areas seeing unprecedented disruption and chaos, that closed schools airports and many government departments. Indeed some regions saw above five feet of snow.

Sun sparks back into life.

Are the record breaking snowfalls in Mid Altantic US states linked to the Solar cycle? We believe there is a firm connection.

Over the last week or so we have seen the most convincing evidence yet that Solar Minimum is over and that the Sun is firing up towards it’s next peak of activity. This is part of a routine 11 year cycle, though on this occasion Solar minimum has lasted longer than expected with little major activity for numerous years

Over the last week however there is a clear sign that the Sun is firing up to a new peak - Cycle 24 - as it is more commonly known, that presumably will see greatly increased Solar activity.

No one really understands the full workings of the Sun, but what is beyond doubt is that climatical and even political and social events on Earth are closely linked to the Solar Cycle. For example it is no coincidence that the extreme record breaking snow falls that hit mid Atlantic States including the US capital Washington, come after a period of highly reduced Solar activity.

Sometimes this relative inactivity can last for hundreds of years and contributed to the so called Little Ice Age, beginning around 1650 and lasting for around two hundred years. It illustrates if ever it needed to be said just how much we are at the mercy of celestial factors that virtually determine every aspect of life here on Earth.

Coming Ice Age???

For those looking for evidence of Global Warming in the USA this week there was scant evidence as heavy snow blanketed many mid Atlantic states. Indeed the nation's capital Washington saw historical records for snow falls broken as up to three feet of snow caused severe travel and domestic chaos.

Global warming? You must be joking. A better case could be made for a coming Ice Age. In the event neither would be true - just a combination of shifting wind patterns relating to fluctuating temperatures in the Pacific Ocean that have controlled weather patterns long before humans came on the scene.

Record snow falls

Mid Atlantic states were walloped by huge snow falls. Here is a CNN description of the overall scene:

In New Jersey, nearly 60,000 Atlantic City Electric customers had no electricity, the company said; 19.3 inches of snow blanketed Atlantic City. More than 128,000 people in Virginia, Washington and Maryland were without electricity, according to utility companies in those areas.

Southern Pennsylvania's Ridley Park reported 30 inches of snowfall Saturday afternoon, and the Philadelphia International Airport racked up 28.5 inches, the National Weather Service said, citing unofficial tallies. The airport was closed Saturday, but reopened Sunday and expected to operate at 60 percent capacity, spokeswoman Victoria Lupica said.

Record-breaking snowfall covered the , the weather service said. Over two days, 32.4 inches of snow dropped on Dulles International Airport, breaking a January 1996 record of 23.2 inches.

Frozen Britain

Nasa's Terra Satellite recorded ths amazing image of a frozen and snowy Britain, literally from head to toe.

Does this look like global warming to you?

Thing is that many more images like this will soon have people talking of the next Ice Age. But both ideas would be wrong as the current cold spell affecting areas of the UK, USA and other regions of Europe are simply due to wind diretion and nothing more. Besides, this is winter - what do you expect???
