Two thousand and nine (2009) - They're way out of line.

As the early days of 2009 rolled off the calendar advocates of global warming in the USA needed to confront a difficult dilemma. It was the fact that despite the prognostications of a doom laden future that was assured to fry everything to a crisp, the opposite seemed likely - the spectre of a new Ice Age.

Obviously the hasty expectations of a carbon filled atmosphere need a hasty revision, but this hasn't stopped some sources from labelling 2008 one of the warmest on record. But on whose reckoning? What data can possibly support the fact that despite all the hype and publicity this planet shows no signs of catastrophic heating.
